Gardening with straw bales is the answer to any organic gardener’s prayers. If your soil is so poor that amending, or enhancing, it with compost, fertilizers, or leaf mold makes you exhausted just thinking about it, then using straw bales for planting may be the perfect solution.

#1 Getting To The Roots of Mycorrhizal Fungi

Teresa and David Steinbrunner of Wildroot Organics will discuss the benefits of using mycorrhizal fungi with 95 % of plants to increase water and nutrient uptake, disease resistance, drought tolerance and increased yield.

#2 San Antonio Seed Exchange and Seed Library

Katie Dietsch of the newly started SA seed exchange and library.will discuss the importance of  seed libraries in preserving existing species of plants. This will be a ‘Seed Exchange’ opportunity, so BRING any seeds you would like to share (labeled by name, variety and year harvested, please).
