CANCELED

The city, Parks and Recreation Department, is moving forward with their yearly Jammin’ Jams fruit tree adoption, but in a new and COVID safe way. The Parks and Recreation Department is planning three separate drive thru events.

The first event is taking place Saturday, February 20th at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The next events will take place March 6th and March 20th. Above is a copy of the flier for the event this Saturday. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions to our fruit tree expert via text, and the answers will be broadcast within limited distance on an FM frequency.

We are in need of volunteers to assist with this event. We will be adopting out 600 fruit trees at the Nelson Wolff Stadium. This event will be a COVID safe, drive-thru style tree adoption. All volunteers must be comfortable standing or walking. It would be great to have some of you join us. Parks staff will be setting up the trees and cones the day before the event, but we still need volunteers to help with traffic control, handing out event information to participants, taking orders, and loading trees on Saturday.

If you are available to volunteer, please e-mail us at info@gardeningvolunteers.org. This will allow us to keep track of the volunteers available and send a Volunteer Parking Pass with any new event information.
