Many thanks to our title sponsors Edwards Aquifer Authority and Trinity Glen Rose Groundwater Conservation District for helping bring Go Gardening to the Bexar County community. We also appreciate our ongoing support from the San Antonio River Authority.

Go Gardening Show Episode 10 brings the third full season of Go Gardening to an end. We've reported on some incredible yards this year and provided lots of great landscape beautification ideas while encouraging everyone to save water by using native plants. We hope you've enjoyed the shows, because we had a blast filming on location each month. While we begin to plan for 2025, you can look for some "Best of Go Gardening" over the next few months.

To close out 2024, Go Gardening made a trip to Herff Farms in Boerne. There we discovered an educational facility that really has done things right. They are community oriented and love teaching people about native Texas plants, vegetable gardening, pollinators and conserving water. This is a wonderful facility where kids and adults alike can learn more about nature's beauty and uniqueness. Don't miss this segment. It was definitely a fun segment to shoot and produce.

Stop two on our agenda was the Garden Safari in the Del Webb neighborhood on the city's far westside. There we saw a spectacular water feature that took up nearly an entire back yard. The owners had also decorated with the right types of potted plants, native plants, solar lights for the evening and a nice-sized koi pond. Then we headed over to visit with a neighbor who has taken all types of gardening classes and has the "show room" type landscape to prove it. There's a great mixture of raised beds, in-ground plantings, hardscape and a water fountain all perfectly placed to create a back yard respite.

Don't forget...FALL IS FOR PLANTING! So, make plans to take out some of that water-guzzling turf grass and replace with colorful, water-saving native plants.

Go Gardening's mission is to help people conserve water in the Edwards and Trinity Aquifers by teaching homeowners how to convert turfgrass areas to low-to-no water use landscapes featuring native plants.
